That's absolutely fantastic. Wish I was there this year. That's the true racing spirit. Wishing you the very best for the rest of the week. Tim.

    Buy the trans.
    Rebuild your old one.
Next year you'll have a spare, which from my perspective, pretty much will guarantee you will never need the spare.

  4. Now for the rest of the story
I know I have said this before but ! I want to say that there is not enough money in the world that could buy a team as dedicated as the 640 race
    team. They don't get paid
A dime but are worth more than money could buy. They have pulled together to form the best team i have ever seen.
Thank you guys for your never quit attitude. Our moto... NEVER EVER GIV UP...
    THANK YOU GUYS!

  5. Are you guys up to make a pass today?

Your definatly not alone John. Being involved with LSR since 1975 I've yet to see the same Comrodery as there. I've witness guys when the were thru, and set a record, take their cylinder heads off to a guy running in the same class and help them install them on their engine. My partner, with his engine in my car, had a buddy of his from Connecticut rebuild a 12 port GMC head on the counter of his bathroom one night why we slept and he was 77 years old. I've given away new clutches I brought along as spares.
It's almost something you cannot describe. One week seems like a long time but it's not as we know. There is nothing like seeing a team with bad luck thrash all week and set a record on the last Friday.... I know you any your friends will not give up. J D

Salt bear have come out of hibernation, they are having communication issues out there with the event system as well.

Stick with it crew, tough times now will evolve into great future war stories. You are living and doing while others only dream.

116 at 2.25 mile the oil filter came loose
    Maybe I'm spilling the frijoles.
Bad luck. I think they are done for this year but....

  24. XO/PP 640 FINAL REPORT
    Bonneville 2020.
got the tranny in this morning ang got in line around 130 finally got a go. We were on a really good run 112+ at mile 2 116.896 At the 2 and 1/4 mile and charging on then the oil filter seal blew out somewhere on this run and emptied the oil tank and lost oil pressure about the the 2 and 3/4 mile and the run was aborted.
Slowing down for an average for mile 2 at 115 and change.
The engine is hurt but not broke however I won't run it without looking at the bearings. The engine will live to race another day.
Just want to thank my crew for there never give up attitude.
    Thank you,
    Dave
    Dan
    Sam
    Doug
    Rick
    Richard
    Marie
    And my lovely wife
    Flora.
We are done and will own it with dignity and move on with a little more knowledge for next year.
Thanks to all who support and follow this amazing journey. Next year
    Never give up.

Xo/pp 640 team thanks for the ride. I hope God willing to be there next year as a spectator, and meet, and shake your hands.
