Where have all the Tri- Five Chevy V8 fuel pump's gone? Better yet, when will more be available? Who halted manufacturing? HOLY DRY FUEL BOWL BATMAN!!!!! Yes, I'll make them wait to finish their project.
Have you tried someone like Danchuk? I know they sold them, and even rebuild kits, but were fairly expensive. Any SBC fuel pump would "fit", but may require some adapting of the fuel lines. I am Butch/56sedandelivery.
Danchuk is out, everyone is out. I'm just poking fun at the current situation we're all in. Yes other pumps will work. Funny thing, looking at alternatives also show's shortages!
No core to rebuild. Doing a swap. Out with the 235, in with a 283. Car is still functioning fine with L6 so no hurry. Thanks for the offer. I'll just hold tight for now.
For 40 years women have asked "Is it hard to find parts?" And it never has been...until now. I had a hard time finding a rear axle shaft bearing for my 59 Ford. No more chinese junk, I got one made in USA
Airtex 4460 is a direct replacement on the tri-5s where the outlet is orientated to clear the front mounts [I just got one last week from Aussie] try this https://www.ebay.com/itm/Mechanical...415065&hash=item5d992d0850:g:DP8AAOSwSflbl-Y8
You are right about one thing, there are none available through regular sources. The Airtex 4460 seems to be out of stock everywhere too. I'm thinking that the plants that make them are either not running or are on limited production. Summit says estimated ship date of 8/21 on the carter https://www.summitracing.com/parts/crt-m2468
do you have a Delco "4460", "4656" or a "4346" pump? The last 2 can be used on a tri-5 if the body is clocked for the outlet to be in the correct position. The inlet will need a 90 deg elbow
Summit is where I ordered a Carter along with many other part's back in early July. Since then I've been given 3 pushed dates. Yes, it's a plant issue. It's the new toilet paper shortage.
