Not sure what everyone is using for door pulls, so thought I'd share what I came up with. Mine's a bare bones interior, so no door panels.

Have been doing some work on my interior this week. One of my projects was to find something to use as a door pull. The small pull on the garnish molding wasn't cutting it. Have old distressed leather upholstered seat so was wanting some kind of leather handle and not metal. Eric of HRL (RIP) made some nice ones and was looking for something similar.

Have a buddy who has a band and uses vintage equipment. Noticed the leather handle on his old Fender amp and he told me that you can buy replacements for them as most are in pretty rough shape. Long story short, purchased a pair of quality replacements and really happy with them. Heavy duty and beautiful workmanship......and the perfect fit for my A. Can't tell by the pic but these are not flat.....they're stiff and crescent moon shaped so they stand proud of the door. Work great.

Don't get your 'suicide door latches' on conventional doors. Are you gonna 'turn 'em around'?

Nope......they keep my old Model A doors from occasionally popping open when I hit a hard bump.....as A doors have a tendency to do. Have seen them on suicide doors.......never knew they wouldn't fit a standard door.

Cool. It looks like you got the good ones rather than the cheap ones.

    Thanks Jason,
I bought them from a vintage audio/instrument dealer on Ebay. Looked around quite a bit at sites like Blues4U suggested and these were the two that looked exactly like my buddy's originals.....which is what I wanted. So I popped for a set. Fender also still makes a replacement handle - made in the USA.

Thanks. Yep, probably paid way to much but they were what I was looking for and the workmanship is just beautiful.

  14. And some vintage amp knobs can be adapted to late-model switches. Electronic surplus stores are always good to raid for old equipment which has chrome toggle switches, knobs, and all kinds of neat bakelite doo-dads. If you keep your eyes open you may find a set of knobs and do the whole car.

Sweet! Nice touch... is there a source for the aircraft safety pin latches?

Yep, good advice. I never pass up a surplus store. I used to go to Phoenix for the car auctions week in January and to hit the bone yards (when they used to have some really good vintage yards). About 15 years ago, I went into an aircraft surplus store there and found a dozen of the tailwheel lock quadrants in my pic above. Bought a pair for 25 bucks and didn't even know what I was going to use them for. Should have bought all they had......they go for a little bit more than 25.00 a pair now.;)

Thanks man. Not sure on a specific source, except to check with the big aircraft surplus yards. Have seen some for sale over the years and they are really pricey.

Thanks....but oh lord, I've got a few things going on it (have it all tore up). Putting in a new gas tank, completely renewed interior, interior - seat out of it, rewiring it, steering column out, painted the splash shields and getting ready to reinstall, changing out the headers (got Matt at Gear Drive to make me some torque tube headers), need to put it's new shoes on, installing Moto-Vox horn, need to reinstall windshield, putting in new switch panel and a few things I'm probably forgetting.:) Basically with this crap going on, I started my winter projects this summer.....but I'll see if I can scrounge up some pics.

That looks really good. I once used a stratocaster jack plate flipped upside down to mount a choke cable. It looked pretty slick.

Fender amps are a good source of parts. My dashboard lights are Fender jeweled pilot lamps, with 12V bulbs.
