Well, that's about it. Hoping those that saw this enjoyed, and once again I'm grateful for the friendship, and sharing from Gary Lindsley of family treasures. I'll leave with some pictures of the Lindsley family race cars, once again not all HAMB friendly, but it is Speed Week.

I am pretty sure that this is John Cramer's roadster from the San Diego area, Ardun powered usually.

 

This is my dad, Gary Cagle---our old Caddy too. Injected 331 Chrysler on Nitro,

 

Cagle/Herbert---ran 180.36 MPH at the first March Meet--Top Speed of the Meet.

 

When your in your 20s and you tell A hot Rodder in his 70s that you want to build a late 30s lakester.. he sends you home with homework.

 

30 model a with Dodge roadster body, great look.

 

May well be. That's San Diego area (National City, Ca.) Jerauld's speed shop "Baby Bomb" in the background. They may have caravanned up and pitted together with Cramer's group.

Lakewood Auto Parts at Santa Ana, running Clarke Cagle's Ardun, Bob Alsenez driving. Manuel Coelho's twin flathead dragster is at top right waiting to run.

 

Was that twin flathead dragster all wheel drive - looks like a banjo rear end up front or was it just front drive ?

 

Became Bill Taylor’s. Assist starter at Bonneville for many years.

 

Good eyes, that's Manuel Coelho's twin engine four wheel drive dragster. He started out with flatheads, and later went to Chryslers. Later Mickey Thompson bought it, converted it to a slingshot, and it became the forerunner to the Challenger. Mickey raced it at the drags and turned 294mph at Bonneville. Here is the Coelho car:

 

Wow.....don't think I've ever see a picture of it with these flat heads. Thanks for the history lesson !

 

So much experimentation on these pages, exciting times !

 

Amazing post and just being at Bonneville 3 weeks ago it still has me in salt fever.
