I will tell you what it does then what all i did. Start up runs fine drive around and after its at operation temp it will die at every stop. So the what's been done. new plugs, wires, points, coil, rebuilt carburetor. cold compression test 145 psi all 8. check dwell at 30 timming on the money. woundering vapor lock or a valve to tight. it's driving me crazy. i drove on a back road and tested drove 10 mph hit brake die did this for about block died every time. mention that running 12 v to internal resistance.

When it dies, is it in Drive? If you put it in neutral first before you stop, does it keep running?

consider a blocked petrol filter or blocked breather in the tank pulling a vaccuum.i had an issue with a daily driver covering a regular route and stopping suddenly allmost in the same spot on 3 occassions.would start after a few hours when i had to leave and take me home the same route turned out to be the coil, never missing a beat til it stopped suddenly

Vapor lock, possibly. Is this a recent development, or long standing problem?

I had the same issue with one of my old 327s. It turned out to be a vacuum leak at the manifold. The engine would run until hot and would die on idle due to loss of vacuum. I installed new gaskets on the top end and it ran fine. Not sure but its worth checking. I found my leak with a butane torch (not ignited)
