Supposedly I have a Joe Reath crank but I don't see his name on it. Does anybody know how Reath stamped his cranks?

I don’t think he’s selling it... just trying to identify it.

You might ask Gene Adams if he has any insight.

The only Joe Reath stuff I have is this old coffee can with his name on it, full of Champion N-54R recessed electrode spark plugs. When I sniff them my nose burns. Why would that be?;) 20200731_100745_resized_1.jpg 20200731_100937_resized_1.jpg

I know I haven't had a day off in a long time. You and Zig are on my list the very second I have free time. I also have to go to Chema at RC crankshaft to pick up my hemi. All work and no play make Jeff angry!!

Man, a Potvin front mounted blower with an Orner injector, don’t get much more rare than that. Is there a dragster chassis in your future?
BTW, I’d be happy to come over and sweep up all the leaves if I can hang out around all that cool old race stuff for a while after? Lol.

I figure I'll build the engine first and then if a dragster comes my way then.........

    OK,
Kinda written Joe off at this point, kind of a sad deal for me, but had a good customer come in and sent him over to Cerrillo instead

Tom did my Mag work when I was racing, always prompt, fair prices and reliable service. Nice guy to boot !

  27. 102_1420.JPG 102_1422.JPG 102_1425.JPG Just came across this today, been pretty much wrapped up for the past 55 years, 33 by me. I looked at the rear rod and main journals when I got it and put it out of harms way, 392 Hemi and yes, it's been spoken for already. Was told it was hard chromed ( HC ) when I got it, but what do the other 2 letter abbreviations stand for ?

There are counterweights (CW) added at the center main, the main journals are grooved (GM) but the SK has me wondering.
Edit- Could the SK mean the forging was smoothed and knife edged?

  29. Could very well be, pretty much looks like every surface has been touched on it. This could not have been cheap even in 1965.

    I have a crankshaft out of a 1969 Z-28 block
Stamped Reath. I have the block .040 over now and looking to use this crank. The stroke is 3.562”

It is from my cousin his dad ran custom wheel service near placentia and after he passed it was in his garage. I am building it to put into my 71 Nova.
