Gas is cheap up here so I’m driving my off topic big block cruiser everywhere I go, which isn’t many places. Hoping to get the interior painted in the Fargo this weekend. It’s been in primer for 25 years or so....then comes the outside, even though I said I wasn’t going to paint it Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
Just got it today for 79 in my neck of the woods. Probably cheaper at Costco but even though I'm bored I'm not bored enough to sit in line there for an hour to save a few cents.
Filled up here in Edmonton for 54.9 cents a litre (Regular) at Costco and no real lineup to speak of. When you’re filling a 135 litre tank that’s a treat.
Holy shit that’s cheap!! Pick up a couple 45 gallon drums, fill em up for me and we can ship them out!!! I’ll still be ahead vs the greedy buggars here!! Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
Ya that’s good for 94. That’s all I could run in my Camaro back in the day. Not cheap!! Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
One thing I like about the premium fuel at Costco is no ethanol. For me that’s worth the extra cost for the hot rod and some of my other small engine equipment.
Went up to the old timers and helped him fire up his corvette for spring cruisin. Went for a nice cruise in the coupe as well. Let’s see some weekend Canadian bacon cruisin!! Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
No cruising yet, street cleaning isn’t finished yet here. Lot’s of winter gravel sand and debris as usual for the sweepers to get. Inspection is booked and I had the RPU outside setting the tire pressure tightened the wheels and drove it up and down the driveway. Brakes need some adjustment but that’s to be expected.
Nice!! She’s lookin good out in the sun. Post up some pics of the front spring set up. I’m curious Bet you can hardly sleep at night eh Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
Thanks. Pretty excited yes. The front suspension is a busy place. I built a flat crossmember that the posies front spring fits into. The radiator is right on top of it. The spring mounts are through the sides of the wishbones through a portion of solid steel that I built into the bones when I built them. The shock mounts are above that and the F1 upper shock mounts include headlight stands that I added. Super bell suicide steering arms which I beefed up before chroming allow the tie rod to run behind the rad. There’s even a panhard bar tucked into the space between the rad shell and the front axle from the driver’s side of the frame to the mounts I added to the passenger side wishbone. I said that building this car was like stuffing 10 pounds of potatoes in a 5 pound bag and I wasn’t kidding The front suspension and steering were only one of the many challenges. If you’re interested my build thread (all 84 pages ) documents most of it. Of course like most ground up builds it evolved along the way. https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum...-up-build-thread.460009/page-84#post-13579921 Larry
Inspection is done No problems and I went to the registry and got my plate too. So now I’m ready to get out for a drive. Cold, cloudy and windy here today. I’ve got to adjust the brakes and they really need to finish sweeping up the sand and gravel from the winter. I’m pretty happy right now
Finally got The Turd out and went to visit a buddy just to get out of the house for a bit. Parked in front of his old barn and thought it made a good shot of the old girl. Sure hope things start opening up so we can get back to some normality. Cheers Sent from my SM-A205W using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
