Been building the next project in my head for the last 10 years. Thinking of painting the running boards white instead of body color. This will be on another 36 Ford pickup.

I have an opinion but I would like to hear your thoughts.

That's one of the options in the survey. Great minds think alike.

I was going to paint them pearl white and then cover the tonneau cover and the chain covers. I'm not sure how the vinyl would fair in the weather, getting shoes dragged across the top etc.

@Roothawg I like the look of the white boards! I agree the white interior and those bed chain covers above on the mag cover tie it all in nicely. But how the hell are planning on keeping them clean?

My friends 27. Wayne sewed magnets inside the running board covers so he can attach then on the inside bed sides when he's driving. w1 (2).jpg

Damn it. I really like those. Now you have me thinking about white boards. Just painted the Cabriolet and it's going back together now. (photoshop pic of it finished) .
Guess I better try some photoshopped white boards on it. Damn you:mad::D. Untitled36.jpg

Now if ya gotta do some Pop Up Camping you got it made in the shade...predecessor to the Shaggin Wagon...Dana made an interesting mention of convertible looks by removal of said covers...was that common as this all plays a bit into the Boat and removable Tops and boots of Hotrod and many Customs back then...kind of getting into a little more of fighting mode or just grabbing a few 2x4s...

Mine always sit low enough. My wife automatically steps over running board, even when they are sprayed with bed liner. She spent years being told that she can't.....

Another thing I like to go with the WW's and the running boards is a white headliner especially noticeable from this angle. Dig the white steering wheel, but a white headliner would have been a nice finishing touch IMO

  28. Judging by the snaps on the inner edge I would say upholstered.
