Picked up this cool 59 Apache. It’s totally original. I mean, except for powder coated wheels ... Not planning to change it’s looks much other than I’d like to drop it at least 3”. Would Like 4” but I’m not sure it can be done without a custom axle in the front. Don’t want to cut on it. Not experienced on these trucks at all. Anyone who knows and can chime in...I appreciate it. Also...best place to buy the goodies to do so? Thanks .
I have a lot of experience with a 59 Fleetside. After 43 years, it's still on stock suspension, stock height, stock brakes. But it's had a 396 or a 454 in it for almost all that time
Pick up the phone and call Sid if you want to lower it. Here is his website: https://droppedaxles.com/
Those trucks were built to last (at least suspension wise). There are grease fittings on anything that moves, even the e-brake cables! Oil and Lube meant something in those days. Enjoy the ride, Carp.
I second posies super slides and recommend bilstines In case you want instruction: https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum...ck-suspension-axle-and-brake-project.1131871/ Thread also includes vendors
Nice truck, being a short fleetside with all the chrome means someone optioned out a decked out delux model back in the day. If you have two visors and chrome interior knobs that was probably top of the line everything.
