Dodge 1948, 230cui ,Offenhauser manifold with -41 Oldsmobile carbs, and split exhaust. I did not build this, just bougth it
I have a 1959 dodge 230 in my single seater. It 100% stock though. It moves my little 1500 pound car down the road just fine. I don’t have plans to hop it up just get the oil leaks fixed.
Pics have been posted before. Mating a '58 Plymouth over drive to my 230. Decked and shaved and balanced. Dodge never offered an OD in '57-'59 in passenger cars.
No rod run for us, have not had the cars out much this summer, been busy with projects around the home front.(Hmmmm I think I have heard someone else use that excuse)hahaha!
Here is the old 230 I built for my previous 48 Plymouth coupe. Had it in front of an R10 overdrive so it would cruise at 70-75 all day. Had an Offenhauser intake, Carter-Webber carbs, repop Fenton cast iron headers a mini-HEI distributor and an Edgy aluminum head. 230 2 by hkestes posted May 26, 2012 at 12:06 AM 230 1 by hkestes posted May 26, 2012 at 12:06 AM 230 by hkestes posted May 26, 2012 at 12:06 AM
I have a 265 out of an old dump truck. collecting parts for the rebuild, Block is currently at machine shop. it had 2 different pistons in it and had a hard life. Stock rebuild for now, will squeeze it into '41 dodge 1/2 ton 4x4 military.
My friend Hubert built this Chrysler 251 a few years ago. Since this video he added a dual carb manifold and dual exhaust header. He is an old time MOPAR inline 6 guru. He’s forgotten more about these engines than most of us will ever learn. Years ago he had a 37 Desoto coupe that was a real contender at the Newport Hill Climb.
Very nice! I am interested in seeing detailed photos of hopped up flathead six installations; the new EDGY phase 2 heads do not accept the MoPar throttle bellcrank post. I am trying to determine how to connect the throttle linkage on the firewall, near the steering column, to the dual-carb AOK intake's Carter B&Bs. The Carbs are connected by a linkage included by George Asche, but how to connect that to the car is a puzzle. Also, if I want to install a hotter cam in my engine, which is stock and has been run about 3300 miles, how essential is it to install new lifters? Thanks for any advice or posted photos!
Ran a hopped up 228 in my 55 Fargo for years. In fairness the engine was tired, all cyls leaked but she had good oil pressure and did not burn oil. She was a dog though, sorry most are dogs unless were talking well built 230s or 265s. I have a nice 265 still on my floor and also have a dual carb setup and dual exhaust manifolds. This spring I swapped in a stock LA 318 with 904. Night and day power difference, its not even close. I have a friend with a warmed up 251 and T5, and although its a nice cruiser its way less power than a my 318. Here's pics of my dual carb flathead 6. And my 265 engine.
I’ve read a lot of concerns that the edgy head doesn’t have a provision for the belcrank throttle linkage. I used the stock pedal linkage and adapted a lokar gas pedal cable (shorten ) and made a few brackets
Hi John Did you drill and tap the missing holes for the ignition lead tubes and the oil filter attach? I received my head Sunday and am unsure how to proceed. I will be calling Tony. Ward

No I didn’t use the factory plug wire holder but I did drill and tap the head to attach a brace to attach the throttle cable and Remote spin on oil filter. Hope this helps
