Event Coverage Carter Hill Farm Swap Meet

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by ct1932ford, Jul 19, 2020.

  1. I drove up to Marlborough, CT. early this morning. Was told there was a small swap meet going on. With nothing else happening and me getting the swap meet shakes. I thought I would give it a try!
It did not disappoint. Great to see some old friends and although not a large meet there was a nice selection of good stuff. :) Here are some pictures!

    Mark,

Sorry I missed you! I was in a quandary being so excited to finally get to an event, I forgot to take pictures. Thank you for getting a photo of my truck there.

Agree it was a nice event and good to go “shopping” and see some of the regulars.

I didn't see any A or T parts. I was parked next to the 35 Roadster, 40 coupe.

  9. There were A parts. The guy said he had more home, so I asked if he had any pickup beds. He said he did but it was attached to a truck:rolleyes: Wise Ass.

The place is super cool. Barns adorned with vintage signs, gas pumps, a landscape garden with the source of water cascading over an open tailgate from a barn find Chevy pickup. Farm animals, a tavern, a motorcycle themed tap room in a separate building, and oh yea, a vintage roadside filling station from the mid 30s. I briefly talked with the Mr. and Mrs. co-owners who were hard at work and it was a pleasure to witness down to earth humble folks that created this environment and love to share the vibe with others. Thanks Carters. Was great to see hot rod faces for the first time of 2020. Look forward to next month and the fall show.

  14. Now that I have moved to Pennsylvania, more and more activity is happening in the New England area. The last flea market locally was back in March. Hopefully Maple Grove Drag way's summer flea market, combined with their spring flea market that didn't happen will be a good one. I, too, am flea market deprived.

Hey Mark, did you get a price on the pair of Guide 682C's in your 5th pic and was that an A bar or a 32 Commercial?

  29. It was an A bar. 300 for lights and bar. That was asking price. Lights were in nice condition, no dents.
