I am trying to find out what became of my Dad's custom 1936 Ford 5 window coupe. Around 1960, in Baltimore, Md. he started customizing the coupe, 4 inch chop, modern brakes and wheels. Later that year due to other projects, he sold it. Fast forward to 1977 and sitting at the Carlisle, Pa. swap meet was the 1936 Ford without motor, still primered and unfinished (See attached photo). The car was for sale at $2850, but Dad did not buy it. I would like to know if the car was finished or where it might be today. Thanks for any help.
I'd have taken that one to my grave with me.............DAMN. I have one of these sitting and waiting for the 20 tons of work it needs and that pic just gave me a hard kick in the ass !!!! Thanks and I hope you find it.
Bumping to see if this car was ever found. It is a great looking car. I am looking for something similar.
How much further would you part out a project like that? What would you do with the left over parts? In todays world it's setting in some ones shop waiting to get around to it worse case scenario.
Odd finding this thread resurrected. I looked at a chopped 36 back in the mid 90s that I think was a 60s build that was never completed. Judging from the pic the one I looked at had a more aggressive angle to the rear of the roof line. Pretty sure it had a real small oval back glass in it that was about impossible to see out of. Didn't pay any attention to driveline mods as the body looked just the right amount of mean in hot rod black primer. Came back from the memory bank the other day when I happened to be in the general area it was stored in. Kind of wondered whether it was still around or ever even moved from the garage. It was in Md,right around the Lansdowne/Baltimore City Line.
