  6. Jim's head is taller so you need longer studs. I bought a set from him with ARP nuts - guessing they're the same.

My special machined head is even taller yet.His studs looked like they had provisions for an allen wrench in the center.

Its being built now by my buddy Harry at Harry's Hot Rods in Dover NJ. I have a really nice F100 column, box and column shift thats going to be mated to a side shift 39 trans that I will probably put together.

Front end is dropped 33 axle with unsplit A bones. Rear is a 40 rear with the ends of the bells cut off and A bell ends welded on to use a T rear spring.

I will be doing the juice brake system.

Its just a pile of parts now but end of September is the goal for a rolling chassis but that date will most likely slip as I am going to Bonneville.

Those are ARP studs with hex in center
IMHO the best money can buy without NASA funding

ARP studs are great , even on the odd ball stuff they will help you get the right ones. I have used them on a couple OHV heads. DSC01290.JPG Gary

Itty bitty slugs the size of a peach..heavy engine too...the block casting is dicey, cracks like a B block on steroids..got to blow them up like a balloon just to see if they will hold air..

If I can offer a suggestion
Contact Reds headers to source the ARP studs and nuts

    Banger’s got 5.5 Snyder’s head and a single 94.
Stock Ford specs Champion plugs gapped .032”.
That okay, or should be tweaked?

Can u pull a set of points from a Mallory and run as a single? I need to read up on 2 point distributors. I thought the main reason was for higher rpm. In a banger what’s the purpose?

I ended up ordering a couple of these and it runs great. Quiet, doesn’t sound like a jackhammer or a bed vibrator in a motel.

MOST dual point distributors fire a few degrees apart to give a longer spark at the plug. You can run with one set of points.

@OldDawg, thank you sir. We’re all at different levels here, but you’re starting to rub off on me!

I appreciate all the advice I get. H.A.M.B.’s keeping me rolling.

Sorry the plague’s curtailed your racing season. Stay well!

Longer coil soak (the time the coil is 'charging') too..4 cylinder soak time is fine with single point set up..life is easier with single point set up too
