A.J. Foyt running Williams Grove in 1964. He's on the throttle, look at the left front coming off the track. He won the feature. Beautiful car. Ron Heddondorf collection photo.
Two legendary heroes. Pat O'Connor, on the rail, races hard with Mike Nazaruk at the Terre Haute Action Track in 1954. Pat is caring the # 1 as the 1953 AAA Midwest Sprint Car Champion
Thomas Flyer, wonder if it is the same car that was once in the HARRAH Collection. At one time it had all white tires and was called Blondie. Bob
A great photo of Ray Crawford at Monza in (I think) 1958. Interestingly, Crawford had flown P-38 Lightnings out of North Africa during WWII and flew many of his missions over Italy while becoming an ace. Crawford is sometimes overlooked because he owned his own cars. But he adapted to auto racing quickly although he really didn't have all that much experience. And he did manage to win the Mexican Road Race one year driving a Lincoln. Also, I'm guessing that's an Italian actress posing with Crawford but I don't know who she is. Maybe someone else here does know. Thanks, Rootie!!!
