HOW TO IDENTIFY EARLY FORD TRANNYS

I have a few, I believe to be 30's 40's Ford Trannys. How do I identify these Thanks

your pics dont show here. best way to identify is to go to vanpelts sales web site and look them up

 

So the picture didn't come thru? Ok, well thanks for the website. I'll check it out.

 

Other way is Ford stamped the VIN Number in the top of the bellhousing. You can compare the VIN number found on the case to the list of Ford Vin numbers, it will tell you the year the car rolled down the assembly line

Thanks that is what I needed. I did find most of the numbers on the 8 trannys. Now to look them up for a value. Thanks a lot!
