    For all you guys that HATE the term "rim", you can't call that metal part a "wheel" either.

    NOUN
    Wheel: a circular object that revolves on an axle and is fixed below a vehicle or other object to reduce resistance/friction, gaining a mechanical advantage to enable it to move easily over the ground.

    it would be the sum of ALL the parts that actually make it a wheel.

    The so-called "rim" is the metal part consisting of a "band/hoop" and a "center". The tire is the rubber thing...and when you put a tire on the rim it becomes a...you guessed it... a usable wheel.

    Well...half the folks here HATE the term "rim"...and by definition it's NOT a "wheel"...so I'm sticking with "tire adapter":D:p

    Lol! Yeah that would make for a good garden hose reel. There's so much stuff in there it's crazy. Wish I could buy it all but I don't really have the room. There's about two hundred plus hubcaps upstairs a lot of them are complete sets here's a few photos of some samples that are laying around downstairs. I will get some photos of the fronts of the Rims, wheels or tire adapters and post them soon. Thank you

    I'd get a lug pattern guide so you could tell what fits what. Ford and Mopar 4 1/2" x5 for cars or 5 1/2"x5 for trucks and older cars, 5"x5 for some GM, 5 x 4 3/4" for other GM. Then you could farther sort them by size, 15" or 14".

    The odd 14" could still have value as a hose hanger or a base for a grinder stand or something like that. Could even weld a few together for some jack stands....

    Yeah a lug pattern sounds great. I'm sure that would help me sort through them some. Also theirs lots of early ford stuff. Looks like 30's. Radius rods, heads, transmissions, steering columns, brake drums etc. Kinda overwhelming.

    @RP42

    I agree there are likely some desirable wheels in the mix, but I think as a ‘lot’ they are overpriced at $5 each. By the time you load them, haul them, unload them, store them, handle them for a buyer.....and maybe sell half of them in a reasonable length of time....for what?.....average maybe $25 a piece, then deduct the $5 each for the unsold, haul them to scrap, more loading/unloading, you have made very little for a lot of physical labor.

    There is a reason why goods sold in ‘lots’ sell for a fraction of their theoretical individual retail value.

    A $1, maybe $2 each for the lot, if you really want to mess with them..... The best deal would be to buy whichever YOU want to use for $5 each and leave the rest for the next guy.

  10. There are some desirable wheel covers on that wall. I spot '55, '56., & '57 Chevy and a '55 Olds. Some of the others are not worth much.

    Yeah, the caps could be an OK buy if the price is right and there are lots of pairs (good) and sets (better).

    Incidentally ...wouldn't they be better described as "tire adapter covers/ decorative discs" ?:p

    Depending on what is there for old Ford stuff, that might be where the value is. Of course with the Ford stuff, just like with all these circular objects, you gotta know what's junk and what's gold.

    About 1960 era Buick wheel cover, 1957 Ford car (also possible T-bird) taillight assy. Wheel is for a dual rear wheel setup, typically 1 ton model, such as C-30 Chevy, Ford F-350, etc. Wheel also fits front of the same trucks.

    I agree with some others; some of those _____ have good value and some don’t. Scrap’s not paying too much now, so get them as cheaply as you can.
