Customs 1940 Ford Sedan: “Family Truckster” Build

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by JohnnyCASHcadillac, Feb 7, 2020.

  1. I remember seeing those on a 40 chassis I did for a friend a while back. Don't know what they're for off-hand, but I just hammered them flat.

Is it a mounting point for the '38 cable brakes? Is that the original frame for that car? Maybe Ford never changed the stampings.

    Rear end is set.
Posie set up was pretty straight forward without much in the directions.....

The rear shackle looks like it does not have much travel before it would hit the frame. But it may just be a bad angle on the pic.

The bump is where the e brake cable runs through.

I’ve jumped up and down on the rear and nothing hits.

I heard of a trick to get the headers to fit. Switch the passenger and driver headers to avoid the steering box. Luckily I had an extra passenger side. Fits perfect. I like it when a plan comes together...

    Gas tank is back in.
    New fuel lines.
And I had a little help with painting the 9”. I pay them in juice boxes.
Plus an altitude adjustment to the front.

You filled the holes for your wiper motor bracket? What are your plans?

  28. Newport wipers work good or a Mighty wiper (I have 1 side in the '41 P/U).
