Leland Kolb and Fritz Voight had the right idea way back in time... the red, white and blue... for their opponents.

Happy 4th of July. We are in a difficult time period with the pandemic causing rifts all over. But, the red, white and blue has been through a ton of stuff over the years. So, we are settled down somewhat to help in any way we can together. The spirit of the 4th of July should help.

The RED, WHITE AND BLUE will help to get over this pandemic with everyone’s cooperation. Be patient during this pandemic. Despite the differences, patience and cooperation is mandatory for success.

Since all of the So Cal beaches are closed for the weekend and beyond, calmer heads will have to prevail to get over being in a danger zone with all of the gatherings everywhere. Remember, we are all in this battle, together. Stay safe.

"Then the original CRAB CLAW flames from that era started the new variation of the scallop flames. Larry Watson’s very first flame paint job. Rather crude flame design, done in dark red with orange Enamel, was known as “Crab Claw” style flames."

In our junior high art class, we experimented with the letter “C” in all shapes and angles to make it look like crab claws. It was one “C” over and behind the other. No fancy swirls at the tips, just plain old Letter “C” pincers. Of course, over time, the local painters went a step further to stylize the flames with longer swirling fire flames and tips.

But, these red flames on the 1929 roadster of Leland Kolb and Fritz Voight were one of the original “crab claw” flames. PINCH…

I’ve always liked blue and red together, so this is all very good for me. I had that combo on my bike as a kid, and I put blue carpet in a red roadster I had. Here’s a Willys model I did with Hydro dipping.

You fill a container with water, float multiple colors of paint blobs on the surface of the water, slowly dunk a part in through the paint, when it’s submerged, wipe away the unused paint, then pull your part out and Bob’s your uncle, you have a psychedelic paint job.

 

Wow! Every time I got paint and water next to each other, it was a disaster!

 

How about some Red White and Blue for 2021 on this July 4th.
