Anybody got any July 4th car events going on in their area? We would normally be going to the monthly cruise in, they usually have a band or something extra for the 4TH, but I don't reckon they're having it this year, haven't heard anything about it if they are. Just wondering if there might be any parades with old cars or cruise in's or shows going on anywhere, or are they all cancelled like here?

  2. I might drive down to the Dollar General in my '48 to get some more beer....does that count?

All ready for a cruise tomorrow with a local group of hot rodders. Expecting lots of HAMB friendly and not so HAMB friendly cars as well. 4th photo.jpg

There is a cruise in about 40 miles away tomorrow afternoon. Heat index of near 100 degrees tomorrow has me thinking staying home with a cold beer. I'm not a huge fan of cruise ins any way.

I lost two friends from the virus. I wish it could be political but for me its real, we stayed home this year... They were both healthy and strong as mules too... Please, use hand Sani and keep your hands out of your face, that's the only way you can catch it.

Scary stuff out there, sorry to hear about your buddies, MY faborite uncle had it in April and he is high risk with health conditions and a heavy smoker, luckily it was a mild case and he got through it. I was glad to see everyone keeping their distance at C&C, most in mask and enjoying the cars.

We stayed at home like I figured we would. Was gonna go get some fireworks and shoot them off for the kid, but about 5pm the rain blew in and killed that idea.

Rusty1 nailed it , the lost summer. More like the lost year.

A friend and I went to Blytheville AR for ECTA LSR at a former Air Force B-52 base. Drove about 4 hours round trip, but could only stay about 3 hours because of other commitments. He and I agreed, that even though LSR isn't the most exciting thing from a spectator standpoint it was good to listen to and watch some cars make some really quick runs. Several over 200 MPH. Quite disappointing for quite a few who clocked 199 MPH speeds, but who knows, they still had the afternoon to go and tomorrow too.

It was also good to spend the time with my long time friend who I haven't spent much time with for all too long.

Drove my '31 A coupe in the parade today with large majority of people practicing social distance and masks. Drove my '29 AV8 avatar to the original 1958 owner/builder's house tonight to watch the fireworks from his deck. Very good day.

Took the A to a tractor and engine show in a nearby town, I usually take engines, but the car was easier. Skipped Goodguys this year.

Car and Firework shows canceled in my area. Besides its almost too hot to get out of the A/C.

  30. Went to the cruise on the 4th, still too HOT at 5PM and hardly any cars showed up. Found another one on the 5th, every Sunday at a local state park, they give us 1/2 the parking lot. Just have to be there before they collect lot fees. TONS of nice cars, new and old.
