Projects Dodge This - 1939 Dodge Southeast Gasser Build

  1. More like a reverse sponsor - he's making a killing on guys hunting trophies

477" BBC I think. That's the old Pale Rider car it was a BBC so I assume the motor mounts are set up that way still. It's 477" because that's close to my cubic inch - I can't get the weight out of my car. Almost 200 pounds heavy still. He did get the weight out.

Thanks! Very interesting. At 129 mph in the 1/8th, hes definitely making some pretty big power! Love your car btw!

  3. I know this has been beat to death, so I aplogize in advance for posting another photo of "the incident at Shadyside" but I was reviewing some old photos I took of the Quick & Dirty Dodge and found an inside the car view of Tony's unfortunate clutch explosion. Thought some of you might like to see what the business end of such an explosion looks like. Tony is extremely lucky...carry on. Quick Time Bellhousing.jpg

  4. Yeah the disc on the dash photo is making the rounds again. :D All the same stupid experts too,
    1. The pressure plate exploded.
    2. A chunk of the pressure plate stayed attached to the hat.
    3. The chunk spun around inside the bell housing at 8000RPM
    4. The chunk beat the starter pocket that most Quick Times have
    5. After enough hits, the dowel pin for the block came out
    6. Then the shit hit the fan.
There weren't any rubber bolts used - contrary to the interwebs story.

I highly recommend a Lakewood housing. Saving 20lbs on a welded bell housing is not the way to go.

My son and I will be wearing our Q&D shirts at Carlisle this weekend. Continue to spread the SEGA word, just got into town tonight and seeing cars cruising so hope turn out is good

  9. Yeah man thanks for the pics! I'm going to try a 5.43 rear gear in that thing - it doesn't pull wheelies like it used to. Its got a 4.86 right now.

Good on you guys for getting out! Have fun and thanks for representing!

Have you tried the 5.43 gear yet? Sorta seems like I've lost touch with you somehow as far as HAMB goes.

  13. That race at Moorseville we were running the engine in the pits for long periods looking for an issue. I didn't hear anything clacking then but it was pretty noisy making passes and it was 1/2 second slow. So I found a broken adjuster at home. We'll try again in Alabama. Still might swap to the 5.43 just for you Chuckie Poo.

  20. We didn’t make it to Ohio - building a new shop so it wasn’t happening. However Gabe got the A/G win! Long time coming congrats.

Thx Tony, guess SEGA has gotten to have such a big field of cars that they've had to go to a 2 part video now! Wonder when the last half comes up?
