So I've been going through these fenders and patching the large holes. I've also noticed that there are quite a few small holes and cracks especially around the edges. What's the best way to fix these holes without making things worse IMG_20200629_121038296.jpeg

cut it back to where the metal is solid. You'll now have a large hole to fix, and you already know how to handle that.

I spend an afternoon many years ago gas welding fender edge cracks in my ‘40’s fenders. Mechanics tie wire and my smallest OA tip.

Be sure to install the braces as they will crack again in no time.

The metals thin , so cut it off and make a new flange and weld up. Personally I would take the time to cut off the whole flange and make a new one . I would surmise that isn’t the only area that’s thin .

First sandblast all the rust off so you know where the thin stuff stops.
