Just had a brain storm, will the Lincoln v12 hydraulic lifters work in a flathead v8? I thoroughly hate adjusting flathead v8 lifters. Anybody tried it?

  2. Well,,,I don’t hardly see how .
The V8 Flathead lifter bores are not pressure oil fed ,,,no oil galley for the lifter bores .
They only get splash oil feed .

I set a flathead up once , then forget .jus like Unkl Hnry ment .Gas weld stellite 6 onto valve tips ,this quarter inch blob of self hardening schliz ,then gets gap adjusted in block ,remove ,grind off reqd amount ,refit ,remeasure ,repeat etc etc .advantage.less reciprocating weight to valve bounce or destroy lobes .I run a POTVIN 400 in my stockcar . no adjustable lifters and revs harder
