  2. Somebody told me to use WD40 on the panels after I scotchbrited them. Any thoughts?

Good to see the coupe getting some use.
I like what you’re doing with one exception that’s the red tint.

Can’t stand the stuff and don’t think that I could stand looking out through it.
Also don’t think it does anything for the look of the car.

  17. Colored tint was a big deal when i was growing up, going to Lions Dragstrip. I love it... I had blue tint on a custon Pickup I did a few years ago. That's cool, no worries...

That's at Viva, in Vegas. Cool...

  19. Gonna get back on the panels tomorrow! Remove the gas tank, so I can finish the trunk, even though I don't have the new one yet. Then make the kick panels...

I really hope you never need it but that fire extinguisher may not do you much good in your trunk. Great job on your panels.

  21. I know. That's where it was when I got it. It's moving...I have a larger one i'm gonna use.

  22. Thanks Rocky.....I'm working oh it slowly. When I do things in a hurry, i usually end up changing my mind, lol. This one's a keeper, so I want it right.

  23. One HUGH problem i'm running into is. My left knee is going bad. Hopefully I won't have to replace it, but it looks like an automatic might be in my future. If that happens, i'm going with a powerglide. Life does that sometimes.... Well, got to get to it! I'll post the pic's later today.

  24. Trunk panels are done. Tank is temporary, til the new one shows up. It was a long day! Fuel line too short, broke the hard line at the floor, didn't cut the slots for the hinges long enough, then 33-34 Fords 079.jpg 33-34 Fords 087.jpg 33-34 Fords 088.jpg the filler neck was tool tall! Here's some before and after pic's...

  25. New tank. 15gal, 36" wide, 14-1/4" tall, 10-1/4" deep. The filler neck will be on the drivers side. 33-34 Fords 089.jpg

    Bob,

Your aluminum panels really cleaned up the look of the trunk! It looks sano in comparison to the "before" picture.

    Hey Bob,
I think that's the U2 series tank from Tanks. That's what I have in my A coupe and mine's 18 gallon. So unless they've changed something, I think you're gonna get 3 more gallons for an extra hole shot.;) Car's lookin great man!

  28. Thanks. It will look even better after the new tank goes in. Everybody keeps telling me to put louvers on them, but I like it simple.

  29. Just read the paperwork...it says 18gals! hahaha Never claimed to be accurate. The boat tank I have now is 12gal.
