Technical 1935-1936 ford car radiator question.

  2. I’m not 100% but after owning a 36 I’d have to say NO. Top tank and side hood brackets are probably the different stuff. Mitch

    Nope the Ford parts book has a different part number for 35 and for 36...

    Early-built '36's used the '35 radiator with the large tank, then the switch was made to the smaller tank unit. Eithef can be used.

    So what I think I am hearing is that they can be different parts, but if we are willing to customize a little we could probably get it to work. ?

    You might have to use different radiator steady rods, but the '35 & '36 radiators should interchange with no problems. I use a stock radiator with a 327 SBC and haven't had any overheating problems.

    Scan was taken from the EFV8 Club book "1935-36 Ford Book". The book is written for restorers, but I've found it very useful for my '36 hot rod, too. Think it was $20.00 from the Early Ford V-8 Club of America.
