Continuing with the chassis welding it together adding boxing plates in front and rear of the X.

I have made a new centersection and made brackets to attach the 36 Ford radius rods.
The rear spring is a shorted 48 Ford frontspring.
Have also done the brackets for the split wishbones SAM_4469.JPG SAM_4471.JPG SAM_4472.JPG SAM_4474.JPG SAM_4477.JPG

Reminds me of my '55 tbird build. Everything rusted. My friends laughed and said I was nuts! Maybe they are right. I'm 74.

  16. Nicely done. As @Stogy said, Canadian cars seem to have a lot in common with Swedish cars. On a really nice Canadian car I count on replacing the bottom 6" of the car. On a rough Canadian car, the bottom 8-10 inches will require replacement.

I filled a lot of holes in the firewall then I modyfied it to make room for the Sbc, done some rust repair on the rear wheelwells. Made some profiles that holds up the Volvo roof then I parked my cars and went to Croatia for a holiday. 20190724_135927.jpg 20190724_135946.jpg 20190730_133619.jpg 20190731_110922.jpg 20190907_134521.jpg

Finally done the last rust repair around the cowl vent and got a Crysler Voyager seat from a friend.
Started with the exhaust system, Chinese stainless blockhuggers with headerflanges cut away and replaced with V-band clamps, I relly like them they dont leak and are easy to remove.
    The steering box is a CCP Vega powersteering. 20191117_135605.jpg 20191117_135549.jpg 20191117_135430.jpg 20191117_135449.jpg 20191117_135514.jpg 20191117_135523.jpg

For steering column I have decided to use the right hand drive manual column that was in my Willys it has the look I want. Have also installed the Vintage Air compact evaporator, to make more room for it I have moved the dash just under 1" back and made some repair and fillied holes in the header panel. 20191118_150531.jpg 20191118_150552.jpg 20191215_105734.jpg 20191215_105748.jpg 20191215_105807.jpg 20191215_105839.jpg 20191215_105848.jpg 20191215_105920.jpg

Have made a batterybox behind the rear seat and made the seat. Raised and tilted the backrest for the Chrysler front seat and some rust repair on the inner fenders. And a hatch on the floor so I can check and fill the master cylinder. 20191215_110208.jpg 20191215_110435.jpg 20191215_110615.jpg 20191215_110741.jpg 20191215_105825.jpg

We have snow on the roads almost 6 months so to be a fulltime rodder you have to.

Testfitted the March sport track front drive system for clarence between the AC compressor and the Spal cooling fan, it is tight but it will work. Have bought a Limeworks Sprint car steering wheel and their outside mirrors and made the upper front shock mounts. 20191216_135935.jpg 20191216_135955.jpg 20191221_123723.jpg 20191221_123752.jpg 20191222_111928.jpg 20191224_122059.jpg

Decided where the AC vents would be the side ones under the dash and the middle where the ashtray was. Have made a shelf between the dash and steering column and been doing some work on the column.
    And testfitted the gastank cover. 20191225_121154.jpg 20200104_122954.jpg 20200104_123024.jpg 20200104_123046.jpg 20200104_123400.jpg 20200106_110847.jpg

Have made a fan shroud for my Spal cooling fan and checked the steering u-joint angles, the lower is 30 degrees and the Borgeson joints can handle 35 degrees, it should be fine and the steering feels smooth.
Installed the heads and valvecovers to check that I can remove them its tight but it will work. 20200106_164210.jpg 20200106_164239.jpg 20200117_131718.jpg 20200117_131725.jpg 20200118_162334.jpg 20200118_162938.jpg

Test fitted the Tanks inc fuel tank had to widen the frame a little the mounting holes for the tank did not match. Sprayed epoxy primer on the chassis made a paint box of some plastic so I would not get paint all over my garage and put body sealer on the body. I have started to assemble my chassis for an inspection that I have to do to get a title. 20200124_102839.jpg 20200124_102853.jpg 20200212_071728.jpg 20200303_101734.jpg 20200303_101800.jpg 20200303_101806.jpg 20200303_101834.jpg
