whats the story on 42-47 Ford trucks. some say ugly some say pure art.

Thanks, my problem is a little bigger than that on my drivers side though, I had planned on doing something like that on the passenger side it not that bad.
Problem is on the drivers the person who had it before me decided to cut the whole back of the fender off like 6-8 inches up it. And put a very crude patch panel on it that does not match the passenger side. The big panel line and everything is screw up.

And there's supposed to. Be braces too? Great another part I probably don't have.

 

They have a reinforcing plate inside the bottom edge as shown above.

What kind of suspension mods are done?

 

Early Fatman MII, 302/C4/‘65 Mustang 8” on stock ‘46 springs with hangers raised

 

'42 with .060" over 428, 4 speed toploader, 31 spline 9" nodular center section rear. 20 gallon fuel cell in a home built wooden "toolbox" in the bed. Nothing fancy, just an old shop truck. somewhat of a sleeper though!

 

Love the stance of your old one. What's your setup?

 

Grew up with This one, Buick Nailhead 4 speed, would do 4” wheelies!

My Pops got pulled over on the freeway when we were moving in the 70s, he had 6-8 V8 engines in the back of it, and he was pulling a full-size 41 COE fire truck full of car parts. The cop said “ what’s pulling what?”
The truck was ugly as hell but it hauled ass!
