Do any of you know if 53 Caddy and Buick quarters are interchangeable (bolt on)? Both cars are 2 door hard tops. Im thinking if the doors are changed to the Cadillac then everything lines up on the Buick? Cadillac-and-Buick-Coupes.jpg Paper-Doll-Show.jpg

Obviously you’ll need to decide if you want to retain some of the Buick side styling. Otherwise the Cadillac door will have an impact on the Buick front fender.

I like the idea. The big body Buicks make sick customs. The whole idea being long and low, now much longer than a Cad, Roadmaster Buick, Olds 98, etc. Big timer stuff

You will notice the Buick fade-away door is swoopier so you would have to swap Cadillac door or section the Cadillac rear fender where it meets the Buick door.

Going to swap out the deck lids to see if that helps. The thing is just too abrupt for my liking currently.

Now that I’ve seen pics of the car ( great condition) and learned it has great history, I’d keep the mods subtle and if you are going to cut it up get donor panels that you can bolt on, unbolt later.
I know this is the Hamb and we cut shit up but we also must preserve a bit of history.
I have had several 50s Eldorados that I said I’d never sell.... but I sold. I would never modify one of those anyhow cos they are perfect from factory.
Not coming down on you but just be mindful that the history of your car is right up there in the value of this car.
My mate has Sinatra’s 58 Brougham. The car is probably worth $400k but with the provenance is probably worth a million or more.
But I agree. A 50 thru 53 Cad coupe or Fleetwood trunk will be subtle and get rid of the dowager butt.
But keep the original trunk. Same goes for the rear fenders. Keep the originals and modify a spare set. I wonder what just the fins grafted on Buick guards would be like. ??

Yep I’d look out for a spare pair of Buick guards. And then a pair of Cadillac sedan fenders. The Cadillac ones drop to get the kick off the fin so you would need the whole upper cut.
I’d keep all that nos trim too.... they don’t make it anymore.
