$4000. Really? I must be out of the loop as far as what these things go for.

I'm not sure if this project falls under yardwork or garage

The tortured car is indeed a 1939, not a '40. And there are numerous things left that differentiate a '39 from a '40 still. The accent lines around the window were '39 only, not used in 1940. And the side beltline "molding" was stamped into the '39 body, and not done this way in 1940 cars. I've owned both years, and been staring at my '39 for the last year daily as I brought it back to life. They are actually very different cars when you look closer.

I'm thinking the car in the cave is a sedan or hardtop with the roof cut off, looks like it's got a package tray in place where the top well should be. Still great pictures though.

Found this in the woods on a piece of property I am thinking of buying. Not sure of the year, but it looks pretty solid for something that has been sitting in the woods! If I buy the property I'll drag it out and offer it up to anyone that wants it. If I don't buy the property I'll tell anyone interested in it where they can find it.

Wow that thing is solid! I'd jump on it if you were closer to KC.

That is actually in an old gypsum mine that opened up in a neighborhood in South Dakota this last week. 12 houses had to be evacuated.

Well, I really hate to say it, but there is 1 less 57 Dodge station wagon left in the world.
The car came here 6 or 7 years ago as a parts car for my son's 57 Wagon. He has been removing parts from it over the years that were in better shape then the same parts on his car. It was beginning to sink into the ground, and we were getting "critters" living under it, not a good thing in town.
The end of the line came Thursday. We spent all week pulling parts we thought might be useful to my son or someone else. There wasn't much the roll back picked up on Thursday.
The wagon is the white car on the left.
    Pulling parts.
Cutting parts off. Those quarters were really bad at the bottom.
Ready to go, the chassis with a locked up rear axle and a holy frame is what the yard picked up. The motor and trans left today heading for a new home and a new life. All that remains here is the front clip, but it may get cut up as well, no more storage space.
The yard looks strange with just a dirt patch where that car sat the last 6 years. Gene

The 325 Ploy motor was listed for sale at a few different places, including here. It sold within 2 days and has been picked up. I saw the trans and the gen off of it listed in the parts section yesterday. Gene
