I bought a second 57 wagon for $100 as a parts car. I’ve stripped most of the parts that I think could useful to me or someone else. I still have to remove the hood. Are there any particular items that people generally need that “might” still be worth removing. I have most of the dash pieces, steering wheel, wiper motor, bumpers, stainless chrome pieces, door glass, and door handles. It was a complete rust bucket to say the least. Did come with a running 283and tranny which my brother will use. Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Cut the ''best'' side off for a wall hanger! Tailgate hardware and hinges are worth saving, as are the wagon specific window garnishes.
there is not one usable part on that car that someone somewhere is not looking for right now. I sold a coffee can full of nuts bolts and clips from a 60 El Camino on ebay. ... if nothing else sell it off to the next guy for $200.00
Someone will want the V8 core support. You can buy new bumpers cheaper than having the old ones rechromed. The wagon bumpers are reproduced now.
If your bought it for a $100 you did really good. The answer is yes, there is a lot of parts on there that are worth selling especially if you have the time and patience to clean the parts and sell them. If not you can still sell it for more than you bought it like mentioned above. I’ve seen wagons like that that ran sell for a lot more than a $100 dollars.... Lots of sellable stuff on that one, ya done Good! Or..........you could cut the majority of the roof off and create a roadster pick up.
The rear bumper guards are not reproduced as far as I know, AND I NEED THEM BADLY!!! Please let me know if you have them still. Thanks, Ron
