Projects Got a new gas tank for the sedan delivery. Should I paint it?

    It looks good in bare steel, but I know it won’t stay that way. You guys paint em when they’re new? Black with silver straps? Silver with black straps? Maybe just clean real good and shoot some clear over it? I know most people don’t look under cars, but I’m that weirdo that lays on the ground at car shows and peeps at your nether-regions.

    I always spray a new tank with rubberized undercoat, but that is just me. I do know if you install it as is it will rust pretty dang fast unless it is galvanized.

    aren't all new tanks galvanized? show us a picture of your tank. Hard to imagine a bare steel tank, the inside of it would rust quickly, If it is galvanized I wouldn't paint it.....
