Aaaahhh that was a 1/2 drive speed wrench with a 5/8 socket,,,,,, sorry I gave up at 7 minutes Later I will jump to the 'good' stuff,,, liked the vintage racing footage, high speeds all out in the open, try that today,,, Thanks
Ahhhhh, the 40s-50s B stuff doesn't have to be accurate to be good ......look at Ghost of Dragstrip Hollow.
I have a copy on tape, uploaded this short clip to YouTube a while back The movie as a whole may be a little lacking but still worth watching for the historical cars
The early oval racing was footage from Southern Ascot Speedway. The Blonde Comet's car looks a lot like they used one of J.C. Agajanians early cars.
there are several shots with Auto Union cars you can clearly see the Auto Union Type D #4 fly by in a few scenes these images are from the net
I have this on DVD also. I have a few hot rod type movies that I watch A LOT, it's really not about the plot or acting as much as the cars and time frame (plus background) for me. Same reason I'm glued to Adam 12 when I get home from work .
I'll have to check it out . A side note on Barney's racing experiences : In 1933 Allis-Chalmers hired Barney Oldfield to drive a model U tractor to help promote rubber tires . He drove tractor No. 999 at a world record speed of 64.28 mph on Sept 17,1933 . The tractors raced on a flat oval track .
