In 1962, I needed a car. Got in touch with a friend in Al, I was 200 miles away, ask about cars, he said come on over. His yard was in Selma Al., got on a bus, and went to his yard. walked around, found a 54 88 hardtop . It needed some tires, located them, put an old battery in , and drove the car home. Drove it for a few weeks, and decided it needed a trans. Put in a 37 Lasalle that I had, with the 50 olds tail shaft. I loved the car . I would like to find a 2 Dr sedan today that is a driver.
Great car, glad it found a good home. I’ve always liked the mid ‘50s Oldsmobiles, I guess because we had several cool ones running around the LAX area when I was growing up. Two of them were mild customs and one was a regular at Lions Drag Strip on Saturdays. Sent from my iPad using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
I learn something every time I’m on here. I never knew olds had that 55 Chevy hardtop roof a year before the Chevy. Always thought that body style was introduced in 55. Now I know the rest of the story!
