Yes, a shroud. I'll form a horseshoe with "L" tabs and mount it to the radiator shell. Will post pics.

Another helpful tidbit....while closing in on the end....using "British" push together "butt" connectors. I use them for anything I might intend on removing for service: dash, headlights, taillights, etc.
They are simple, do need a special crimping tool for the wire end bullets.
But, easy to pull apart when you have to. IMG_20200612_082053572.jpeg IMG_20200612_082239834.jpeg IMG_20200612_110053200.jpeg

A smidge off the thread direction, but someone else posted one like this, I believe cornhusker. With his thought of grafting this Anglia dash I pulled mine out. It's 2" each end short of full width '32 Ford dash. But I'ma sure someone could figure the artful fit. I save this stuff as paying homage to the ol school tool and die craft. This is made outa "bakelite". IMG_20200624_095606923.jpeg IMG_20200624_095756863.jpeg IMG_20200624_095613557.jpeg IMG_20200624_095652946.jpeg IMG_20200624_095712134.jpeg

Well, as the inch-a-long continues...circling back around....
Completely rehabbed the E&J's..mods for high and low halogen lamp with adaptor I made, parking lamp, kellerman turn signals, clean all the brassie, paint, rewired. Introduced "jose cuervo" to calm the nerves... tedious and time consuming now the Packard doo to put them into operation.. I failed to point out (jose probably blurred my cranium), that the typical E&J model 20 has 50 plus pieces/parts to the assembly. Incredible for after markets headlights let alone for the early '20's era. If you look at the patent doc typically found its clearly short on showing all the pieces. I know, I've counted and compared. They are an engineering/manufacturing collasal feat. Especially at an optional price of $48 in the '20's.. IMG_20200712_122815592.jpeg

    Ultimate...Just ultimate.
Amazing, the profile/stance. My red '32 Hiboy (1959) sat close to identical. (4 jug flathead, Hali Quickie, reversed Merc steelies, Merc caps)
A sound recipe, to be sure. '32 5 window, tall.
At 77, I remember the Bear super clutch. My knee...Ow!

Mike, hate to lay down, but the '32 has a 200R4 due to new knees, new hips, back surgery, and worse: Arthur Ritus....plus many other non-original goodies.
My German father-in-law famously said frequently..."jim, it's a damn site easier getting here than outa here". No truer words ever spoken.

As the inch along process moves along towards the end, now fitting the hood and hold down straps. Hood a challenge to get margins right or close. (There is no right). Per Rootlieb, weld on extended edges and grind back to your liking. Huh.
Didn't like the first trans tunnel so why not make a new one. Patterned out.
Hood sides next. Patterns. Making blisters for the fat Ardun heads.
Take a look closely at the teenie- weensie turn signal lights on the E&J headlight mounts. These are so kool!!! Kellermann, German, for motorcycles, the size of a common pencil eraser. Do not, and I stress do not look directly into them. You will not be able to see for 10 minutes +.
Well, there's more....next time. Well finally stepped over the edge. With the Ardun I had the chassis built two inches longer to minimize cutting the firewall and at same time keep the package looking reasonably original.
Rootlieb to the rescue with a 2 inch longer hood. Very nice product.
But I new from the beginning that the original hood didn't square up and figured the new one wouldn't either.
    Sure enough. Needed massaging.
Pics show process of patterning and adding 5/16" to back end of each hood side. Not hard...just had to tighten the "go-naddle" support and dive in...and with minimal heat as possible.
Cut and grind back the excess and off to priming. Not a Riddler fit but more better than original.
Note: when I surveyed the '32 constituency about the hood fit and suggestions from Rootlieb, the answer was what are you waiting for. IMG_20200801_094157673.jpeg IMG_20200810_135841836.jpeg IMG_20200811_092532104.jpeg IMG_20200811_101525365.jpeg IMG_20200810_163038838.jpeg

Hood back for trial fit before final paint. Certainly better than before.
Made up and trial fit hood strap hold downs. A little different treatment. Seats off to re-covering doctor. Juteing out the floor for carpeting. I know it ain't horse shoes...but getting closer. But it's exciting. Stromberg 97's....teething issues. Only two carbs functional. Thus operate at this moment simultaneously. At idle, or dropped throttle getting way to much fuel thus burps, farts, stalls, stops....
I assume now that the two carbs need to be set up progressively, therefore operating at idle and just off idle on only one carb. Thoughts, opinions and suggestions.

Me too. Will try soon. Maybe this coming week.
Lots of work to change as what's there now are the real deal knock offs. Lots of parts. But....the DeWalt battery torque wrench is a savior.
    Will post soon.
