Art & Inspiration Hamber's ~ show off your interior - Hot Rods & Customs

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by HOTRODPRIMER, Jun 14, 2020.

  1. It's been a while since we have seen a thread with photo's of what the interior's of hamber owned hot rod's & custom's, I drove my old beater over 30 years with no real interior abd a couple of Tijuana Blanket seat covers. some aluminum insulation & that's it.

I decided the time had come to install the heater I had put off for several years and then my pal Dave needed a heater so it went in his truck, since I was going to install a heater my bride suggested heat & air, in fact she paid for it so I went with it, while we were at it better insulation went in along with a comfortable interior.

I added a interior over head tight and bought a repop passenger side door pillar on/off light switch and a power take off for the Garman & cell phone.

My fellow club member Dave sewed the interior. HRP

Wow some great looking interior in this thread.
I know some put off doing the interior,it can look like big $ you don't have,or maybe can't decide.

I've kind of always jumped in the black hole of {I don't have the $$$, to pay}but I don't know how , will find out how an do it myself.
I wrote a tech about doing interiors on the low buck at home; few years back 2011.

Maybe fun to read ,even if not a "Do It Your Self" with everything ! Some idea help also !

Will be watching this thread, new sewing machine should be here today. Got a roll of red metalflake vinyl to do some seat covers and door panels for the hot rod stude waiting. Gonna paint all the dash and such red, and chrome the gauge cluster panel. Already installed the steering wheel. Adapted the old STUDE horn button center. Hope it comes out half as nice as some of these featured here. IMG_20190423_182015617.jpg

My interior is still in progress but am using it as it is for now. The interior panels are 1/8" lauan painted flat black which will later serve as the foundation boards for some simple upholstery. The floor covering is made from a salvaged pickup truck rubber bed liner cut to fit. Cost: about $8 for the luan and $20 for the screws. The seat base is a cut-down Model A with plywood back and bottom, high-density foam and flat naugahyde covering which I did myself. Very businesslike. Not for everybody, that's for sure, but I like it.

  21. Miss Taboo's interior, this area was the biggest change to the car when we restored the car.

  22. My 33 Pickup as it currently sits. It was done in the late 80's. This truck is next on the project list and will be getting redone to be more early 60s style.
