So after testing the wipers inside the car, I found out I put the arms on the wrong side.... seeing as it hit the body ... so while it was out I changed the wiper arm splines , I didn't have a puller so I made one with some washers and a nut/bolt all welded together.. it got the job done. My dash wiring is almost done only have the radio and the courtesy lights remaining.
@Mbartils ......Very clever, yet simple to make, puller! I’ve said it before and I am saying it again. I love your Merc build and your ideas and workmanship are First Rate! Ray
So made up a glove-box , seeing as the radio is just a face-plate effectively I need somewhere to put a radio so I used the glove-box area as a good spot , I also put a multiport usb charging port in as well so you can charge phones right next to it . It does go in and out even with the heater core in. It's just some steel that I then riveted together and made an arm that bolts from the body to the radio so it cant move or vibrate. Then after I was sure it fit I lined the inside with the suede side of some almost black leather.
Very nicely done. Out of the way and hidden but accessible AND you retained a significant amount of usable glovebox space!
