Beautiful day in Anaheim.... not so warm out that a hotrod with no air, no radio and no w/shield wipers couldn't be the daily driver for the day. Might make this happen more often while it's WFH.
Was actually take when we entered Orange. Tustin Ave. in front of The Orange Mall (or whatever the hell they call it now)
Hello, Nice photo of that Tustin Ave location. Back when the mall was built, it was very popular, but had a hard time competing with the big name brand department stores anchoring the adjoining local neighborhoods. Eventually, it has changed hands and like most small malls, is in its last battle days. It was the Orange Mall, then the Mall of Orange, and now the Village at Orange. The location has done just about anything to get the customers back, without big name department stores for anchors. It was a nice day for a drive for us along the coast, until the off shore fog decided to battle the heat from the shoreline and come rolling inland. It has been a grouping of several days of heat, fog, sunshine, winds and more fog late at night and into the next day for us coastal peeps. We did see a very old green Chevy pickup truck in the southern part of the city, but not much else driving around. The freeway was what we would call moving, but packed. Where are all of these people going to and from? We had to do an emergency run to the post office to get the delayed tax papers sent off to the state and fed. But, it looked like it was another Summer day with all of the people on the freeway and side streets. Jnaki Is the pandemic over? Or is it on a surge due to all of the re-opened events and places? A packed fitness location was a little depressing as there were stacks and rows of cars in the parking lots. Not only those, but as we got home, the fog was winning the battle and started rolling back inland from the ocean, again. Bye-bye, sun and heat for now... the summer battle continues.
Been driving my '50 Ford everyday for the past couple weeks. Been really nice here in Michigan. Enjoy!!!
Was born and raised in Orange and had years of dealing with OPD. Cruised the circuit on Tustin from Katella to Lincoln and brought cars from Whittier Blvd down only to be kicked out of town by OPD. Pandemic is still around, but sure are a lot of people with a short attention span. The wife is compromised and especially vulnerable to Covid, so we still have to be careful while everyone else thinks it's life as usual. Nice to take the cars out for a putt and do our kind of social distancing.
