I hope I don't step on any toes. Those who take pics for resale put a lot of effort into their work. Anyway, I didn't take anything close up.

This was my first Southeast Gasser event. Had a really good time. Looked to me like it was well attended all things considered.......it was hot, hot, hot. It was still around 80 at the end. Races were great and I hope to get to another. I'm going to post pics in multiple posts. I'm not going to post them full size for those with slower connections. So here, goes, post 1.

Post #2. I'm sorry if I didn't get a pic of all cars. First event and I was trying to take it all in and watch.

Wow, great shots of the event.
South East Gassers put on the Best Show in drag racing in my opinion.

    Thanks for the photos. Snowman

  13. How about those back up “girls”?!!! Those ladies worked their buts off in the hot sun on black asphalt. They really helped the show to be over the top cool.

Running down the hot track at nearly 90 degrees? Man, I couldn't do it.

They really work hard at making sure the drivers are lined up.
It is the best show in drag racing and Quain is the hardest working guy to make sure it goes off without a hitch.
After the show was over and we were walking back to our truck to leave. Quain had a minute by himself at his motor home to just breathe. his supper was a banana and a piece of bread before he was off to the starting line to present the awards.
So the next time you are at one of the events just stop him and thank him for making this whole thing possible.
I will be the first one to thank him for giving me a place to race like I did when I first started racing in the mid 60's. Thanks Quain and all of your team that make up the Southeast Gassers.

I sent Quain a message making sure the race was going to happen. He wrote back ensuring me it was and that if there was anything he could do to help with me making my first race to just ask.

I hope to make Xenia also.

    WV,

I appreciate the great pictures and the time it took to get them. The Southeast Gassers are the best show going and I always enjoy reading about them and seeing pictures and videos from the events. Thanks!

Now that you've tried to stir the Shit Pot, don't forget to lick the spoon when you're done.

  24. Love it in Australia. Quain & gang -big respect.
The back up girls are great. And these cars look better every year, and they don't look modern with vinyl signwork & symbols. They look dandy and right.
Look fwd to video too. Thanks for photos.

  25. 1967- that is a 67 vette bb hood scoop. On the vette it would have had a “stinger” sticking out toward the front. Seems to me that it falls in with the 67 rules/time period

They do a great job with their video coverage of their events. I took a couple for myself but you can't touch their video coverage.
