Today I was able to get Vincent, the previous owner of the car, to come to the door when I knocked. He don't here too good. I asked him if he wanted to go for a spin. We did. It was awesome. He was grinning like a possum. P5040020.JPG IMG_1157.JPG IMG_1156.JPG .

I am so glad It happened. I had been having a hard time getting in touch with Vincent. Today I found out he had been in the nursing home for a while. I am so glad it happened. I guess it meant something to him too, because when we got back to his house, he pointed at a pickup truck load of model A parts and told me maybe I better take that stuff home to put into the other "better" model A coupe I bought from him along with this one. I think he is realizing he is not going to get to it. But on the bright side I took Corky (my hotrod tutor) for a ride today and let him drive it. We had a good time too.

    Great story continues!
Hot rods are the vehicles (lol) that bring us joy and connect us is many ways.
But lifetime friends and fellowship (Moose, Ronnie and me) are the icing on top.
For over fifty years we've worked on our cars through marriages, kids, grand kids, sickness and loss.
The HAMB has been a great tool to keep the flame burning in this time of change. 100_2016.JPG

  9. I think that is the best thing I've seen all day. Thank you! I wish we all could be so fortunate as we get old. Passing on our wrecks and forgotten projects to someone who really cares. Priceless.

Thanks for sharing your story and great pictures. Your coupe reminds me of some of the cars that used to show up at the drag races in Orange, MA during the late 50’s. I rode my bike to the airport then, and envied the older, out of town kids that had a car such as yours to drive there. I wonder if your car will stay this way or if you have plans to make it different than it is now.

I like it looking rough. I may try to add some surface rust to the new metal. But I am not doing any fake patina stuff. I am going to just let it be what it is. I like the honesty of it

With the humidity this year I don’t think you’ll have much trouble making it rusty. Just drive it and wait lol

I think you have the right idea leaving it like it is. Looks real good to me.

Went up town and got Bill to balance my tires. He has his tire business in a neat old place that used to be a Pontiac dealership. An hour and a half and $28 we were done. Many good stories. He runs a neat place.

I got the windshield in, I put the original left stop light on temporarily until I can get the ‘37 chrome lights I want. Also built a POV system to suck up some of the blow bye. I also put some temporary wood in the cockpit. I had it up to 66 mph. The suspension feels stiff but tight.
