Thanks Walt, really appreciate it.Thinking about relocating the horn . Can't decide if it is a distraction up there plus it hides the firewall.Otherwise i'm really happy with the way it's turning out. After chasing down severel gremlins it is runnung and driving great.

The Hotrod in this 25 min movie is one pretty awesome candidate for this thread
I have posted the times where it appears and it even has a bit of the Hoodlum ambience about it...and I still get a chuckle over Buddy's method of getting in the Hotrod...I guess Hop Up has another connection...:D

    "And Then There Were Four"

Vintage TV show narrated by James Stewart (The Movie Actor...Cool Guy) anyways there is this pretty cool 29 Hotrod...I mean Soup Job...Uhhh Hop Up...Roadster...:D...done just right and some lucky Hoodlum(Buddy) gets in the traditional way...:D...squeals away at a long stubborn light away leaving the others behind and I guess the story revolves around an accident broadcast over the news and they had thought it was him but Uh Uh...Nope...

Anyways I will slot in the times below the pics to drag the slider over but the episode is actually only 25 minutes long if you want ot take the whole thing in. Great period Glean check out those headlights...

Just thinking of the real owner of that roadster with Buddy jumping in it but hey he was getting paid and insured anyway...

   ...Question...Anybody know the Hotrod...o_O...just curious.

Women Drivers...:p...Just kidding the guy driver just after this scene is no better either...but Buddy he gets it...

and heck it ain't my car and I'm a hoodlum...

Just about all the cars built back in the day had the voltage regulator proudly on the firewall, usually with a chromed cover. Often there was a double light relay as well. The clever ones placed the relay on the opposite side to keep everything symmetrical . Neat wiring was out in full view - not hidden.

  15. I put my old 33 ford pickup together as I thought my dad would have when he came home from the war in late '45. Newest part was a 49 ford dash, rest was '46 [rear axle] or earlier. I did cheat with the transmission...a T-5 from an S-10 so I could actually drive it on today's hiways. 33atspeed.jpg 33sideshop.jpg

i think i would hang with uncle jack any time! i had a renter in the 80's who would go out almost every Saturday night and deliberately wreck the tranny in his car. reverse to lows until the powerglide would give up. he thought that was fun. in those days we could go to junk yard on sunday, take what you want and pay the guy later, always had it running again for work monday morning
