    Hi Guys,

I'm struggling a little on finishing my 383 SBC build for my 47 Chevy Fleetmaster Woodie Wagon street rod. What I have is a stage 2, 383 SBC, 210cc, 64cc aluminum heads, 278/284 adv dur hyd roller cam, .500/.510 lift. Running a Offenhauser 5694 dual quad highrise intake (360* model), with Sanderson Headers, th350 trans. Supposed to be in the 430-440 hp range. My issue is with carbs. I was planning on two 500cfm Edelbrocks, but started looking at the Street Demon 625. I really like the looks of the Street Demons, but are they going to be too much carb for this car. Plus they are only $325 apiece, Edelbrock are $400 apiece. My question is can the Street demons be setup to work on this 383 SBC.

    Thanks for the help,

    Art

Yes, that is a lot of CFM and I would think that the mechanical secondaries won't be your friend. We all have opinions, but if I was in your position I would be on the phone with the Holley tech guys before spending any money.

Call Allstate Carbs in New York I think. Get a set of 500 Edelbrocks set up for 2x4. Great service and great product. They sell new and reman as well. I have gotten both from them over the years and they have been spot on. Really good price as well.

The Street Demons are vacuum secondaries. They also have smaller primaries. I will be speaking with them again today.

    Thanks,
