Has anyone run a 302 in a 35-40 Ford and used a front sump pan? It looks like it would only need to be set back about 5-6".

  7. Fords are longer engines.IF you need to recess the fire wall to make it fit its at the cost of leg room. There are water pump options to shorten them.

Only set back 5 or 6 inches ?
Tape a couple of 2x4's to your pedals & see if your feet will fit between the seat & the pedal.

The block I have is early, no dipstick hole in the block. The early rear sump kits run $250.

The body is a shell on a cart at the moment, it's getting channeled to the bottom of the frame. If I have to I can move the seat back.

Nothing is wrong with keeping a Ford in a Ford especially if you keep the Ford it came with in the Ford. Otherwise it’s a royal pain in the butt.

No Ford overhead valve V8 Ford engine is easy to put into an early Ford V8 car. Some are downright difficult.
Been there and I have the T shirt.

Remember Ford always had a better idea and used them all.
