When I was just a little kid, I guess I kind of idolized the older kids... all the teenagers. We'd visit Grandpa and Grandma's place on the lake. And I'd see my uncle and all his friends, their girlfriends on the beach in bikinis (woohoo!) and enjoy their cars and music. I clearly remember Uncle Craig's extremely loud 1963 Bacarruda and George King's green metal flake 1955 Chevy.
And Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons on the radio.
    " Big... girls... don't... cry...
    ... eye yi yi...
    LOL

    I know...
" I just listen to the music my engine makes."
    I understand. I do.
But it's not just the cars that turn my crank... it's that whole time... the whole scene. The cars of course, but also the people, the clothes, music... even the difference in the style of houses and neighborhoods. (no such thing as subdivisions and cul-de-sacs) And, I suppose there was a difference in attitudes. People were more innocent... less "hip"... less jaded.

It's all just a time travel thing for me. An escape from this overly "sophisticated" world we live in these days. I NEED the old music.

A few years ago, I was talking with a younger "more sophisticated" man than myself. Friend of a friend... the son of a new car dealer. I was probably talking about old cars as usual.
He replied to me... "You can't live in the past."

    WHAT?!?
    Yeah... ok, smart boy...
    but I can visit.

Sure glad I have you guys to share the old stuff with.
    Thanks.

After all that, I guess we should play Frankie Valli tune.
    Everybody have a good Sunday.

    Somebody said "driving music".
This definitely sounds like somebody who has to get somewhere. Like driving all night through the rain.

I like the really old stuff.
But I grew up in the 60s and 70s.
    I like to Rock.

We can't play Radar Love without playing Highway Star, too.

Wow, CT... I actually never saw George Thorogood in concert.
    That boy's got spirit! LOL

I'm very much enjoying everybody sharing their favorites. We're kind of all over the place, and that's good... broaden each other's horizons a little.

A lot of tunes from any particular genre can tend to start sounding the same. Surfing music, rockabilly, Blues... all of them to a point, I think. And then I have to change up so I don't get too tired of one kind of music.

But in every genre, there are some songs and performances that seem to stand out... for whatever reasons. That's the music I'm attempting to share with you guys... the ones that I consider to be exceptional. As you guys are. It might not even be our particular type of music... but you can't hardly deny the awesomeness of the piece and the effort and artistry that goes into it. The poetry, the magically mood-influencing relationship the notes, the harmony, the beat.
    Yeah... the beat.
It's the BEAT... it's the BEAT!
    LOL

    Everybody have a great Sunday!

    This one cracks me up.
It's a pretty good old tune.
Good guitar twang and a good beat. But the words... LOL
Singing about how he gets a big street fight, but everybody gets their asses kicked because nobody can see... they're all wearing
