I'm finally painting the rims for my '52 Dodge Pickup. I did the truck in Washington Blue years ago and instead of buying the paint, hardener, etc etc I was wondering if anyone knows of at least a close match in a rattle can? I know shades may vary from what I painted the truck in, but I sprayed a sample scrap metal piece so I can use in the future like this. I've been to Napa Auto, Autozone and a couple small local shops but the shades are way off and the cans only say Ford Blue. thanks in advance
Napa can get any color you want if you give them a paint code. Their distribution centers mixes it and put it in a rattle can for you.
Any good auto paint store should be able mix you the color and put it in spray cans...They should have color charts that will give you the code they need...
You might try Krylon Farm & Implement paint in Ford Blue: https://www.krylon.com/products/farm-implement-paint-aerosol/

Maybe my napa store is overwhelmed because I get "what's on the shelf is what I have" and the online Napa isn;t that great, maybe I'll hit up a different Napa store
Thanks, funny the year selection on the site jumps from 1935 to 1938, I guess 1936 and 1937 were bad years for paint... I will have to bookmark this for other projects
Thanks, yep they have Ford Blue which usually when I see them in person looks lighter, maybe I'll give them a call
There's a FinishMaster at 4885 Fulton Dr. Suite A Fairfield, CA 94534 They should be able to make whatever you want. Model A Paint Codes Color Name; Washington Blue (1931-32, 36) DuPont - G8381 PPG - 1246
A good automotive paint store can mix paint in a rattle can for you. It’s not cheap but it can be done.
I've used these guys with very good luck on a 49 ford blue. After light buffing you couldn't tell where the fix was.
