Did any cars other than Pontiacs come from the factory with lighted hood ornaments? I can't think of any.
Desoto and as mentioned above the lighted face was optional. Stock was chomed pot metal. Sent from my SM-G950U using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
If my hood ornament lit up, I would spend my time trying to be sure it did not happen again. If for some reasons others wanted to see it light up .... would probably spend my time removing them from my account. #feelsorry for the fool that has a light up hood ornament.
I like the Sean with light up wings , grandpa had a 47 ford with a bull ornamat with lot up horns, so yes, I like them
I just remember that the guys I was around in the 60's wouldn't buy those early 50's Pontiacs because there wasn't a viable way to remove all that gaudy trim. My best friend loved that gaudy stuff in later years though.
There's no provision in the OEM hood emblem that I'm aware of. However in saying that it wouldn't be that hard to rig up something to illuminate it with the park and headlamps?
I got this one to light up , some 6mm white LED's, mounted in the die-cast base. (Now I have to wait for someone to tell me that's not something I should put on MY car!)
The original ornament on my 48 Plymouth coupe lit up, I have the scratched up remains of it around there someplace. There was a center grille ornament on my son's 57 Dodge wagon that had a glass center, which I expected could have been an optional light. Gene
By all means, if you want to put it on your car, go for it. Don't let the sourpuss spoil your fun. Gene
I've got a 47-48 Ford Hood emblem with a plastic strip down the top of it that looks like it might have lit up at one time.
Too bad the plastics avai.able then were not of the quality of today. Sent from my SM-T350 using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
