Just my Daily driver '40 coupe and my '56 Project Sent from my SM-G975U using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Perfect combo. I've got a 47 Ford club coupe, and 56 Nomad project. There's a 34 Victoria hiding in the shop as well.
Great 6th post @xxxl...you have the best of both worlds...what's the plans going forward now that you've risen from the depths of lurker?
Well now, I don't have a 40 Ford Coupe; never have, probably never will, and I've come to accept that. BUT, I'm on my TENTH, and probably LAST, 1956 Chevrolet; this one is a Sedan Delivery. I've had Model 150 2 door Sedans, Model 150 Utility Sedans (AKA Business Coupes), a 210 2 door Sedan with the Del Ray option, other Sedan Deliveries, and a 210 Handyman Wagon; a Model 150 Handyman Wagon has eluded me, and is the one I've always really wanted. Personally, I'd kept yours a Wagon, but I can understand why someone would want a Delivery. FYI, there are a couple of Sedan Delivery lift-gates for sale locally here on the Seattle area Craig's List. I have a friend who deals in 55-57 Chevrolet cars AND parts. He recently sold his 56, 150 Handyman Wagon, and it was the same color as yours. If you need parts, I can hook you up with him. I am Butch/56sedandelivery.
Butch caught it also, the filled rear windows on your 2 door wagon. You can really stretch out in that car compared to the '40 coupe, I'll bet. Great pair!
That's what HE said... They are 2 of my favorite cars, the '40 is one of my bucket listers. I'd take a '56 wagon or SD in a flash if I could find one locally in good shape.
Are you planning on filling in the side windows for a SD look, or keeping the glass as shown in your 56 project thread?
Funny....there's also an ok 56 SD on the CL here in the Dallas area.....has been off and on going on a year...
Hard to believe you drive that sweeet look'in 40 as a "daily-driver"! You must be in the 'no-salt-on-roads' section of Mich!?! 6sally6
I drive the 40 as my daily from March until the end of November or into December if they don't salt the roads. It gets 15,000 to 20,000 miles on it every year. Sent from my SM-G975U using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
I'm about 150 miles north of St Johns, I'm sure they salt the roads here before the snow starts just to be on top of it..... lol
Just curious. What company offers full coverage insurance on the old cars shown above that are "daily drivers" with unlimited mileage ? Or, do you only carry liability? No collision , no medical, no uninsured motorists coverage? In the early 70's my 40 was my daily ride and insured by State Farm but coverage was limited. Finally, I was told it was too old for them to insure. Thanks.
Hey 19Fordy, talk to Hagerty, I have both my 29 roadster and 48 coe covered by them, very reasonable.
