I like the interior. A personalized license plate could read ACIDTRP.;)

  2. Looks great. My first car was a 46 coupe with a 50 Olds 303. We had a lot of fun in that car.

Great score. I like your plan to leave it alone and drive the wheels off of it.jmho. Snowman

Well I thought Oxblood as well but who cares. If the owner tires of it it can always be dyed. To me it gives a clue as to when it was done.

Very smart to wear a mask especially when opening that huge trunk.. never know what or who you might find in there! Jimmy Hoffa?

  5. I like that interior. Definitely different and looks like it's in great shape. I would have to add dual exhaust and some bling to the engine compartment...

  9. Looks like a great survivor. Someone swapped the flathead for a nice little 283, bit more performance without killing drivability or reliability. Agree with the others, get it road worthy and have fun.

195 hp. If I drive it like the old man that I am, I should be OK. Maybe put 45 LBS in rear tires ! Ha ! Did some research. The upholstery design is called " English Pub " Fitting !

Been there, Done that. With the $ I have thrown at Flatheads, I could have built a Fueler Blown Hemi. Slight exaggeration.

the guy who made the comment about the 283 never posts without making a negative comment. I think it is perfect especially for us older dudes who just want to cruise. drive the wheels off of it and enjoy Tom

Nice! I like the park light location on the 47-48 better, but that is one fine 46. I’d drive it with pride!

Single exhaust!? That is one thing I would have to change, I got to have dual straight pipes or at least glass packs:D
Hell, as bad as my hearing is I would be trying to hit the starter when it was running if it was too quiet.

Love 46's I've had several. The 46 thinner and ribbed stainless trim looks way better then 47-48's.

  25. That is officially known as Crime Scene Red. :p
Ignore all other while'as guesses. :D

A painter acquaintance of mine told me that he loves repairing black paint....... because he claims, anybody's black paint matches everybody else's black paint. He says, "A one-eyed goose couldn't screw it up".

When I was in high school, my buddy bought a 46 coupe out of a guy's backyard. It was one of those,"ran when I parked it". I think he gave around $75.00 for it. The old paint was oxidized to a blue hue. I think all he did was put a new battery in it a fresh gas (mixed with the old). He got his driver's license in January, so I rode to school with him until April. Old Ford ran pretty good, used a little oil, was a flathead 6. He hand polished the paint and everything else. It really was a pretty nice car. Years later I bought a 47.

The 283 is what made it a hot rod in 1960. Great find! Now, I have a
set of Vette valve covers & matching air cleaner...... :D

  29. You’re right. In order to be fast enough for @squirrel it’d have to have an nitro fed big block with twin four barrels.
