So I doodled up the vacuum lines I'll be needing (dizzy, pcv, break booster, trans actuator) I probably won't be using this carb long term but it looks like most carbs have some hookups. Am I on the right path with what I'm doing? I did notice a small vacuum on to top of the carb not sure what that is for Sent from my moto z4 using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
You've got one of those mid-'80s smog carbs... Note there's no idle mixture screws. If the motor isn't stock AND a match to the carb you may have issues with tuning it. If it were me, I'd plug every hole in the carb (except for the float bowl vent), get a carb spacer with a PVC connection and hook the vacuum advance directly to manifold vacuum.
Your vacuum diagram looks fine. However, when I saw the engine picture, the first thing I thought was; if he put the carb mounting bolts on, he wouldn't need a chain to hold the carb on.
The engine hasn't been modified yet and that's the carb it came with. I was looking at doing to spacer to. Not too worried about tuning it right now just want to hear it run. The engine is a 351h.o. from a mid 80 f250 Sent from my moto z4 using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
That's what is in my 4x4 truck... gets surprisingly decent fuel economy but sure isn't any powerhouse.. LOL Start looking around for a set of heads. Ford used 302 (non HO) heads on these, better heads and a cam will really wake one up.
I'm sure dropping half that weight might make a difference Sent from my moto z4 using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
