Art & Inspiration Sitting and Rotting.............picture thread

  1. Finally got my '38 Ford truck dug out of the dirt! It's been sinking into the ground since being parked there in 1982......

Now moved to it's new home under cover along with my '58 ranch wagon. Still sitting but hopefully not rotting now....

They look to be circled 'round the Confederate flagpole. Must be in southern Missouri.

  4. Congratulations! I've had my '38 pickup since I was 14 years old. I'm now 68. Don't know how I got that old. Looks like a very nice cab and doors. The grille is about as good as you're likely to find in the wild. Do you plan to build it as a big truck or use the cab on a pickup build? People either love '38='39 Ford trucks or think they're ugly. I like them and consider them one of the best looking trucks of all time.

  5. That '37 Ford one ton panel truck is a rare bird. The missing parts (mainly headlights) are the same '35-'37 and not too hard to find.

i think the 37 panel is an old army veteran. military grill guard, perhaps a radio truck

  7. It will stay as a big truck. My dad bought it in '42, and I learned to drive in it.....so it has sentimental value...

  14. As stated it,s a 1937 straight 8 Olds. The straight 6 below had a different front to the straight 8 in 1937. They did have the same dashboard and gauges.

Went for a drive yesterday in the burbs. Saw that there was a land for sale sign...38 acre farm right in the middle of the burbs. I wonder if the truck comes with it? Screenshot_20200602-075517.jpeg

I hear you! Where did the years go? I got my first car, a 1940 Chevy, a few weeks before I turned 13. 13! I’m 65 now. Seems like it was last year. Man I wish I had kept it.

  20. I still have my first one, the '38 Ford pickup in my avatar photo. Bought it when I was 14. I'm 68 now.

These two won't be setting and rotting any longer. They sold at a farm sale in Indianola, Ne yesterday. The COE Chev cab only sold for $4000 and the 46 sold for $1750.

off track a bit, but... i stayed at the old downtown hotel in Indianola back in the mid 80's i believe, i said how much for a room, there's 3 of us. the old guy said for ten bucks apiece we can each have our own room! i love those old places, mostly all gone now. i always wanted to stay there again, but it was soon gone afterwards too
