That's a 750 cc OHC Crosley. These days there are plenty of better 750 bike motors. But with much less soul. SCTA will be happy to sell you a rule/record book for you to look through

  6. Got to go pick up my newF- glass Tank today, very happy with it. It is the P-38 with an extra 20 inches. i may take some out of the length but i think it looks in proportion so it may stay as is and have more room for me. JW

  9. Frame will most likely be box section with the necessary and relevant safety roll cage. Now i have the body i will get some thin MDF sheets and draw an out line and use that to map out where things will be. JW

You should start a build thread so we can follow your progress!

  13. I thought about that but progress will be slow for a while, will keep updating on here then start one down the track. Once i have frame done and start dummy mounting things in i will look at it then. I think my Wife is more excited about it than i am, see wants to drive also.:cool: JW

I have one that Jerry Kugal drove over 200 MPH with a 260 Ford Fairlane engine in the mid 60's.

So, super interested in your build, slow or otherwise..
What type of tubing are you using for the frame? your own design?

  19. It will all be 1- 5/8'' mild steel tube with 1/8 wall. The frame will be a space frame type. i am waiting for my seat as i want to know how much room i will have up front before i set where the back axle will locate. The chassis will come together fairly quickly once i have these points worked out. Tire size is another issue the will need to be worked into axle mountings, it also has to look right. JW

Is there a plan for the salt here in the US?

  21. Yes it is, i have been twice and i got bitten hard by the ''Salt Bug''. i have been interested in it for a long time. It won't be a record setter.....i just NEED to do it.
All the photos i take for the project are in a specific album (find it on my profile page) , when i have enough to show i will start a build thread. JW

  23. The '46 Willys Jeep motor (134cid) that will power it. They are 63hp standard so a bit of a warm up "should'' see a marked improvement. JW

Stock Jeep intake turned over and heat sink area opened up to allow more carburation. Needed to mess with the bolt holes also.

  29. I had looked at that...briefly:), but i want to run a Holley 350 2bbl so i have a design in my head for that. I want external adjustments. JW

engines.jpg That will work. But just to be different, if it was mine I might run one of these throttle bodies on the upside down intake and drill for nozzles in the runners. Score a pump and metering block somewhere and make a pill box to use Holley jets for the return. That seems to go more with the idea of a Willies powered tank for the salt. Maybe I would make a cool twin plug flathead and dual distributor drive while I was at it. Why be normal?
