Roo, if you look closely at the first picture in question, it has a Hilborn Injector, like the aerial shot of Cordy, before paint.

@Marty Strode in looking at “the photo in question” I’m not sure what injector that is, it looks to be covered up with something. The overhead shot of the Bev’s Steak House car before paint is running a Crower injector, the early low profile one for 6-71’s as compared to the later Crower 8 Port.

The flowers added interest to the car, that was a sign of the times. It’s hard to tell from the angle of the photo but Malise & Lipori were early users of 8-71 blowers, running a V8-71 here. You can only see two of the three angled fasteners holding the blower on this side, the third is obscured by the injector linkage.

  12. You are correct there...they were one of the first, if not the first to use the 8-71 GMC V-blower, as early as late '64.
M&L comp 1.jpg Also used one on Ingenue in 1967...

There is a reason that race crews and spectators at drag races are required to sign a liability waiver when they enter. Drag racing is dangerous, even for spectators, that fact is spelled out in the waiver. By signing the waiver, people are agreeing that they understand the danger and accept the risk.[/QUOTE]
The young man’s name was 17 year old Tim Ditt. He did not lose his arm, came close though. The doctors were able to reattach it.. Him and Garlits were in the same hospital room. Tim is now a grandfather.

Harry Duncan's "Jitterbug," before lettering. Harry was a successful building contractor who always ran top-notch cars. The Jitterbug normally ran a 354" Chrysler, but here it is running Clark Cagle's Ardun.

Earl Evans belly tank normally ran the straightaways, but here it is running at the drags held at the Marine Corps Air Station at Tustin, California. The giant blimp hanger is at top left. Earl was a legendary machinist and speed equipment producer. Photo by Robert E. Cannan.

Those waivers aren't worth the paper they are printed on except to make more lawyers billable hours. I was there at Dover Drag strip probably 1966 or 67 with my friend that had a 1961 Chevy with a 327 and stock flywheel and bellhousing. The unthinkable happened and he had a flywheel explosion on the start line. He was shaken up but unhurt unfortunately a piece of the clutch flew into the spectators and damaged one fans arm.

Long story short he got sued and lost but couldn't pay the huge judgement so his pay was garnished and was CONTINUALLY and was still being garnished when on my last trip to the USA in 2005. :(

In some states signing a liability, waver is not worst the paper it's written on because it is illegal to wave liability in certain states.
Most sectioning bodies know this fact but they have people sign a waver anyway hoping they won't sue them.

Skirt down low is good, but two big parachutes above the front tires.
    Cool in any case.

TOMMYD, great pictures, I've said it often on here that I really love the 60's full size muscle cars.

"Arlington 4/14/1968 C/Gas Unstopable All Day" I've heard rumors this car survives in pretty much this condition to this day. Neato!

"5-19-68 Arlington Blonde lady owner" I'd guess that "Blonde lady" would be Carol Yenter who ran this car with husband Art. Bad Ass car, wonder what ever happened to it? And another oft repeated photo of that car for good measure also taken at Arlington.

  28. Family cars in motion, all built by my dad Jerry Lipori and his partner and driver Steve Malise at their Brooklyn, Speed & Machine shop in NY...Ingenue has been fully restored and is in cackle mode, the Gold Car is in the family fold awaiting restoration at some point, the Billy Lynch/Pat Foster nostalgia dragster has moved in and taken a major chunk of the funding allowance at this point, she'll be in cackle mode in a few weeks.

  29. Fat Al Riccio, and Joe Simone running out of New Britain, Connecticut. Joe later crashed a dragster, which I believe ran out of Don Gallant's speed shop, and chose not to drive again.
